1972 was a big year for the Telecaster. Fender released the '72 Custom, '72 Thin-Line and '72 Telecaster Deluxe with Stratocaster headstock. Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones took an instant liking to this guitar so much, that he used it as his main axe for years. Even today the '72 Custom is often referred to as the 'Keith Richards Tele' by guitar enthusiasts.
