He is a Fender Japan David Gilmour Stratocaster that came into the shop. It features a 1 piece maple neck with 'C' profiled contour feel, Kluson vintage tuners and alder body. Here are the details of this beautiful guitar:
This guitar is in excellent condition. The neck is solid maple 7.25 radius, 21 vintage frets, 42mm neck width, 25.5 scaled. The bridge is a vintage Stratocaster with a shortened Gilmour-style arm.
This Gilmour Strat is made from solid body alder construction in black finish with black single-ply acrylic pickguard. The wiring on the guitar features Gimour's own addition of a toggle switch attached under the pickguard which turns on the neck pickup when the Fender 5 position pickup selector switch is in the 4 or 5 (some people call this 1 and 2) position, allowing for all 3 pickups or neck and bridge to be on at the same time. Like Gilmour's, this guitar also features his shortened tremolo arm, which can be seen in the pics. This guitar features CTS (made in USA) volume and 2 tone controls, orange drop capacitor .05uf, switchcraft (USA) phono jack, and GHS Gilmour Signature Set of strings. In addition, another unopened box of these great strings are also included with the guitar.
Gilmour uses the Black Strat on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall and his solo work. This guitar comes with its original Fender Hard Case.
For the record, this guitar is beautiful and plays like a dream. As you can see from the pics, we also have Gilmour's Number One Strat in stock as well, complete with Gilmour guitar strap, Gimour Strings, and a Number One neck plate replicating Gilmour's own Strat.
